Home Insurance Coverage

It is important to read your homeowners insurance policy to know what is covered in the event of a claim.  Did you know that if heavy rains overwhelm your storm-water system, sewage could back up into your houseā€”an expensive and nasty mess.  In most cases standard homeowners policies do not include sewage-backup coverage, but you can purchase an endorsement that will pay for $10,000 to $20,000 of damages for about $50 to $75 a year.
If you live in an earthquake prone area you might want to talk to your insurance carrier about what is actually covered in your policy should your home experience damage as a result of one.
It always pays to be
prepared and know what your policies cover before disaster strikes.
