Home Builder Confidence Growing

The Housing Market Index (HMI) from the National Association of Home Builders and Wells Fargo hit its highest level since April 2006.  HMI hit 52 this month.  This indicates that more builders, 52%, view home construction and home sales positively than those that view it as poor.

The growing numbers of potential home buyers along with the price of building materials are the main reasons for the optimism.  Home buyers are looking at new home sales due to the relatively low inventory of existing homes for sale.  Rising home prices have increased the confidence of prospective home buyers of real estate being a sound investment value.
