Charleston SC Real Estate Market Update March 2013

The Charleston SC Real Estate Market is off to fast start this year.  Overall, for the first two months of the year, we are up 17% in the number of transactions and 5% on median sales price over January and February 2012.

Approximately 20% more properties are going under contract each week compared to the same period last year.  Based on the current pace we could see over 12,000 homes sell this year.

The areas with significantly more transaction this year are West Ashley Inside 526, North Charleston / Summerville Outside 526, Mt. Pleasant inside the IOP connector, Downtown Charleston, Summerville, Ladson, Ridgeville and parts of Goose Creek / Moncks Corner.  

The areas seeing significant increases in price are James Island, North Charleston, Downtown Charleston Outside Crosstown, and parts of Goose Creek and Moncks Corner.
