"To Whom It May Concern,
I met Gary at an apartment complex on Daniel Island. He was helping a client from Ohio find short term
accommodations until they found and purchased a home in the Charleston area. We were all having coffee in
the guest lounge waiting to tour the apartment complex and we struck up a conversation. I mentioned that I
was also moving and looking for transitional housing arrangements while my house was on the market. At that
time I hadn't listed it yet.
The agent I used to buy my current home back in 2010 is a nice guy. I actually worked with him again not long
ago when I started looking for a new house, but I generally felt that I was doing all the work and he would just
come along and unlock the doors at showings of houses that I had researched. He wasn't proactively helping
me with my search or my financing, which is a little more complicated than usual because I needed a ‘lease to
own’ option and or other creative financing that would allow me to move before my current house sold. So
things weren't progressing well with my old agent. Also, the house I'm selling is very contemporary and at a
higher than average price point, so it needs the right sales approach to attract the right potential buyers. My
old agent didn’t offer any encouraging strategies.
In talking to Gary that Sunday afternoon and describing both my selling and buying dilemmas he shared some
ideas about how he would approach both the sale of my house and finding another that would meet my price,
financing and aesthetic criteria. After a few more conversations and having him come out to the house we
listed with Keller Williams.
Gary has been great to work with. He always returns calls promptly and has been extremely flexible showing
me houses weekday evenings and weekends. He did allot of research to find houses that met my needs. He
really went beyond what any Realtor I've work with before has done to find me the right house. The house I'm
purchasing wasn’t even listed at the time Gary contacted the owner. It's the perfect house for me and I believe
that if it wasn’t for Gary I wouldn't have been able to buy it. He also was integral to negotiating a great price
below market value, and he convinced the seller to very good terms in my favor.
Gary is also doing a very solid job advising and assisting with the marketing of my current home. The on-line
listing is fabulous and really highlights the house’s best features. Gary gave us allot of tips to get the house
ready and was very patient during the time it took to declutter and touch it up to make sure it looked it’s best.
He hired a professional photographer which really made a difference in the quality of the listing pictures and
virtual tour. He has also used some creative strategies to increase the awareness of the property among all
local real estate agents and brokers. I feel confident that Gary will continue to work hard on our behalf and do
all that he can to sell our house in a reasonable timeframe.
I think one of the best things about working with Gary is his sincerity and helpful nature. It has been easy to
work with him. He is very communicative and keeps me informed, which I really appreciate. And he has a
keen sense and is sensitive to how stressful a time it is to sell your house and buy another.
I would highly recommend working with Gary to sell or purchase a property. I wouldn't hesitate about working
with him again in the future, but I'm hoping to stay put in my new house for a good little while. If you have any
